Jaws Of Duncansby

Duncansby Head, Caithness, Scotland

I took many more versions of this beautiful sunrise most of which were taken slightly later than this and exhibit higher colour saturation, which is normally more desirable, but I have the disquieting feeling that this delicate misty version is my very finest shot. Above all the others I have taken it has that magical quality of stepping through a glassless window, so that I am back once again, standing on top of the cliff, listening to the hiss of the sea, smelling the damp cool morning air and tasting the salt on my lips. Very few pictures do that. I hope this one does the same for you.
