White Lightning Tree

Loch A Chroisg, Achnasheen, Scotland

This tree is starting to suffer the ravages of repeated freeze thaw cycles by the edge of loch A Chroisg, but I think this deep frozen winter look shows it off at it's absolute best. Look carefully for the barest hints of colour almost overwhelmed by ice and the subtle reflection of the scree slope beyond fading into mist.

Ian, this is a gorgeous winter scene. At first glance I thought it was an IR image. So much the better that it isn't!
