Manhattan, and particularly lower Manhattan, is rich in having a wide range of buildings with remarkable architectural details. I'm accumulating photos of these details and will be using this gallery to display them.
Most of the buildings in this collection are on or near Broadway in the NOHO and SOHO areas (north and south of Houston Street). They were built mainly from the 1880's thru the early part of the 20th century. They incorporate a wide range of classical architectural styles.
Please note that the photos taken by my hand-held SLR Canon 300D camera are not as sharp as they could be if a tripod and the highest quality lenses were used. In NYC, it is not easy to carry around lots of camera equipment and to set up the best conditions to capture a perfect image. Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy viewing these images, imperfect as they are.
I strongly urge the viewer to use the "Original" view format to see all of the architectural details in the photo. This will require much scrolling on a small screen to see all portions of the photo, but the details cannot be completely seen without the original view format.
