Daily News-Miner

Fairbanks

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is located in the 'Aurora Building' on North Cushman Street.
There's a public webcam (the 'ArcticCam') on the top floor; it overlooks downtown Fairbanks,
the Chena River and the Cushman Street Bridge: http://www.newsminer.com/arctic_cam/

Guest: Not a day goes by that I don't check the Web Cam at the News Miner. (Thanks News-Miner for this wonderful Web Cam)
My brother Hap Ryder managed the Big I, owned by Jack Sexton, for over 45 years till Hap's passing on in March 2007. I check everyday to see if the Big I is still there and not yet boarded up as are the rest of the buildings in the parking lot. Hap dreaded the day he would see the demise of the Big I due to road construction for the new Cushman Street Bridge. As much as I miss Hap, I'm glad he doesn't have to see the buildings torn down. The Big I and the Riverfront Theatre, where he directed many plays, were Hap's "Home away from home". This is an awesome site with magnificent photo's. I have never visited Fairbanks but felt I knew it like my own city in FL from hearing so much about it from Hap and viewing this enlightning site. (I have as my PC Desktop pictures, the Big I and the Golden Heart Plaza that I alternate between weekly).
