Joop's Dog Log - Monday Jan 12

My humans took me for a long walk in the forest and fields of Roden, about ten miles south of my town.
I love this area. In summer the foresters let Scottish cows roam and graze here.
But now the grass is tall. My humans like to hide a bacon cookie here so I can go on a ‘sniff & search mission’.
Before I pick it up I go all around, so they think I don’t know where it is.
But of course I do.
Hey, I can smell a bacon cookie a mile away!

Gad zooks, Joop, but aren`t you just the best guy! That`s high dog indeed, to go to such lengths to please yr humans. What a guy! You could give lessons, you know. The Woo, for instance, tries hard, I know, but she`d likely give me up to the brigands for so much as a bacon cookie. And Harry? Well, just never mind what Harry would consider for a treat such as that. I think you should write a book, Joop. People would buy it whenever they got a puppy, leaving it about so the youngun could chew on it, hopefully absorbing just a bit of yr class and style. Hey, it might work! In the interim, please know you have all the respect possible from the lowly humans who faithfully read yr words as they visit yr f`log. You`re the best, Joop! Just the best!

Hello Joop....wow, what a cool performance ! Your humans are inventing very nice games for you. We heard that Grandma Klärzi did things like that for little Bosslady when they lived in Hamburg on Easter...she hided easter eggs in the park.......we should prefer your version.....BACON COOKIES......sounds delicious!

Keep fooling them Joop, and perhaps you can get even more cookies that way.
It doesn`t look too much like winter there - hope there is time for a little more frosty stuff...

You are really smart, Joop. Humans will love to play with you if they think you are playing with them, too. How did you get so smart?
That grass in the picture is so beautiful, and that tree ain`t too shabby either. Must be a wonderful place to go.
Sounds like all of you had a good time there.

Joop, it`s good to put on a show for the humans — they like that sort of thing (and will sometimes give extra cookies for it!). By the way, I keep meaning to ask, what does "Poot" mean?

Dear Joop, what a nice field you have to explore. It`s very polite of you to humor your humans like that. What a sweet dog. Story says hello, and she is glad you like her pineapple pillow. Now she wants to try these bacon cookies you talk about. I will have to look at the doggie bakery tomorrow.
Cheers!
