Names, reflections

Washington, DC view map

The Washington Monument and the eastern section of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall
are reflected in a panel on the western end of the memorial on an overcast February morning
in Washington, DC. The wall lists the names of the 58,245 American combat zone casualties
and missing. Additional images from Washington are in my Cities gallery.

Powerful composition. I wonder why Billie Joe Williams is listed twice? Voted.

Powerful & deeply moving. I've seen many photo's of this wall but none that match the beauty and haunting truths within this image. You were wise not to try to articulate its meaning. The blending of names with Washington's monument speaks more eloquently than words ever could. {vote}
