The Cardinal Saga

I'm obviously enamored with cardinals and have photographed them often, so decided to make a gallery dedicated just to them. Growing up in Marin County, across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, I never saw colorful birds (or even fall color, for that matter) so was amazed when I first saw these brilliant red cardinals in our new home of Washington, DC (along with cockroaches, humidity and 17-year cicadas, none of which had I experienced before). Lately a male cardinal has been frequenting our alley, and I run to get my camera every time I hear him singing, which is what prompted me to give him his own stage on Pbase.
