Bee mimic enjoying an azalea

The bees in our front yard weren’t posing for pictures this morning, but I finally managed to catch a few of them who stopped for more than just a second. Note: Thanks to Carl, who said this is a bee mimic species of fly.

It looks as frightening as the real thing. An excellent closeup of beauty and the beast. V

Very bee-like. It is perhaps robbing nectar - robbing because it is obtaining it without entering the flower and brushing against the stamens.

Nicely captured. BTW my Z7 died. A fault developed with the XQD card holder and it wasn't economic to repair. Good while it lasted!
