Hotel Danieli, formerly Palazzo Dandolo (the pink building), is a five-star palatial hotel in Venice. It was built at the end of the 14th century by one of the Dandolo families. CNN cites it as one of the top five "lavish hotels" in the city. Tim showed me his room and the lobby during a FaceTime call, and I told him to take pictures. It was one of the most beautiful hotels either of us had ever seen. He didn’t make the arrangements to stay there himself, and unfortunately the room rate was far above the government per diem for Venice, but it sounds like it was worth staying there for one night, regardless of unexpected cost.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.
