Chinese dogwood fruit

These were all over the trees at the National Arboretum, and thanks to Hank I now know what they are: Chinese (or Korean or Japanese) dogwood. I don't know why they just don't call them Far East Asian dogwood!

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

Yep, this is a Kousa Dogwood. My HOA just planted one in my yard. Did you know that the fruit is edible?

Super image Helen. I think it is some kind of fruit-bearing Dogwood, perhaps Chinese Dogwood.

Very interesting - reminds me of a horse chestnut tree fruit that conkers (nuts) come from but this fruit isn't spiked.
