Coming to life

The crape myrtle in our backyard was severely cut back last year. I’m always afraid that will kill it, but it always comes back.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

that is a big mistake of many garden lovers that they are afraid to really prune their plants, and you can see Helen how beautifully he recovers because that excess ballast is gone, great work BV

We cut ours way back this year too, glad to see yours is starting to come to life just now as you are a few weeks ahead of us. Ours still looks pretty bare. V

Amazing image to see this hard pruning and the growth returns nicely.
The soil must be of top quality for roots to maintain nourishment.
The light is nice and the bokeh is excellent.

Sure does look like a fence post that's sprouting leaves.

This is one determined plant. A timely reminder of resilience - we too can come back after covid.

the tree looks more like a fence post, but lo and behold, the evidence is to the contrary..

Amazing how a tree can withstand such brutal pruning, and yet spring to life with great persistence.
