Where have all the insects gone?

I walked down to my favorite summer garden the other day for some flower and insect shots, but there were very few flowers and not a single skipper, butterfly or bee in sight, the same as it was two weeks ago. Very disappointing; this was the only flower worth photographing.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

This is a fine shot of a lovely flower. Plenty of insects here thankfully - must trying photographing them once the rain stops.

It’s disconcerting that they are not there. I noticed that too. The flower is beautiful though. V

A very nice image with good detail my daughter has been complaint about the same issue with the bees not
being around tomatoes are very late.
And it has been known the the bee population has decreased hope this reverses itself soon.

Option limited, but you made the best of them. Nice details on the petals.

Beautiful shot! I have never experience a summer with fewer insects. It's Rachel Carson's predictions coming to life. Very worrying. I haven't even seen an ant in the past few days. Insects make flower pictures much more interesting.

A beautiful dahlia well presented. Concerning the insects the cities pollution and the chemical treatment in the fields do not much help them to survive. V.
