The cavalry arrives on Capitol Hill

Tim saw these US Park Police on their way to Lincoln Park this evening. I’m not quite sure why seven horses are required to protect the Emancipation Memorial, especially since the controversy over it seems to have died down for now, and there have been no more attempts to topple the statue.

One of our neighbors said the main instigator of the protest, a student at Harvard Law School, had to decide whether he wanted to become a lawyer or spend the next 10 years at the Leavenworth federal penitentiary and wisely opted for the law degree. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I think he made the right decision if so.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

The protesters don't stand much chance against these guys. V

literally ready to ride roughshod over people stating their opinions...no need to topple certain statues though, better to lobby for their safe removal..

That's quite the cavalry.

They look so regal if one can separate from the situation.
There will be many stories to learn of when we are looking back on this.

Nice shot of the mounted US Park Police. I think the law student made the right decision too.

That is a scary sight. I’m glad you are documenting this. The whole 10 year in prison for defacing a statue is ridiculous. V
