Need toilet paper? Good luck with that.

This was the paper products aisle at our supermarket on Saturday afternoon. I guess it’s true that people are hoarding toilet paper, although I’m not sure why.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Wow! A store near me has police in the TP aisle to stop fights.

Ah, this craziness isn't just here afterall; that, at least, is a small consolation.
Bill Miller15-Mar-2020 21:59
It does feel like a craziness is setting in across all countries
hayl15-Mar-2020 18:47
It’s not gastric flu, people. You don’t need extra toilet paper. Same craziness on display here. Also I’m resenting the term “elderly” - wait a minute, when did that happen?!
Graeme15-Mar-2020 17:30
It’s the same over here in the UK with toilet paper and hand wash but like you, what is it about toilet rolls?

A great document to tell about this crazy time.
Shelves are empty here also but there is plenty of soap and hand sanitizer which is troublesome.

I just don't get it... TP really?
danad15-Mar-2020 10:31
No problem here in Brittany in the supermarkets but the same scenes near Paris and other big cities all over France. Mankind never changes !
Juliette15-Mar-2020 08:32
here too... but I realy don't understand why of all products people want toilet-paper !
Industrial Heritage15-Mar-2020 08:13
Here the same, people are crazy. They even fight over products.
Ton, Ben & Rob Nagtegaal15-Mar-2020 07:59
The same in the Netherlands there is panic about carona.
Raymond15-Mar-2020 07:58
I truly don't get it! Why having enough toilet paper for the next 10 years? I can understand some provisions for a little while but this is so excessive!

what an amazing image to show how this hysteria works.V

Overnight, our markets started to look like this! I was shopping last Wednesday and everything looked normal, then on Friday there was a mob scene. People going nuts. I just wanted some tomato sauce. Got the last 2 cans. Good grief.
Gill Kopy15-Mar-2020 02:43
How much toilet paper can one use ??? You can buy it on the black market here - ha ha !!!
LynnH15-Mar-2020 01:57
No toilet paper in my part of Texas. Not much of anything else either. I'm thankful that I keep a well stocked pantry.
globalgadabout15-Mar-2020 01:45
same here in Vancouver, and also not much by way of pasta noodles and sauces, canned goods like soups and fish, soft drinks...perhaps the fear is that the supply chains will stop and goods become unavailable...however, the word so far is that there is little to worry about, as there is still plenty of stock available..

Neither am I, but whatever the reason it is universal. V

This herd-mentality is about the dumbest thing I've seen. Surely, toilet paper should be one of our least worries.

One sick society, mass hysteria.

I have to laugh at this, because this is exactly the same view of the paper products aisles at some supermarkets here! I don't get the toilet paper hoarding either!
