Tim had caught sight of our old friend the great blue heron – who’s been absent for months -- on his way home from work on Friday, so we went down to Constitution Gardens the next day to see him. We had almost given up as he was nowhere to be found, but we finally saw him sitting in an isolated part of the lake. He didn’t move a muscle the entire time we were there; perhaps it was too hot to fish, but we were delighted to have him back. I only hope there’s enough fish for him now since the Park Service had emptied the lake a few months ago.
