I should get back to the birds, but it’s been so long since I’ve had something different to post, I’m enjoying the orchids for a change. I tend to go overboard with a flower exhibit, though, so I’ll try to occasionally mix it up!

We went to the opening day of “Orchids: Amazing Adaptations,” a joint collaboration with Smithsonian Gardens, the United States Botanic Garden, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. The installation showcases how orchids have adapted to their many different environments and can be found on every single continent except Antarctica. We only managed to look at a bit more than a quarter of the exhibit, so I’m sure we’ll be going back to see the rest of it.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
