Covered in Bingöl

When we drove through Bingöl some 20 years ago, I remember thinking how strange it was to see women covered in black, especially in Turkey. After living in Saudi Arabia for three years, it looks normal to me. Funny how our perceptions change.

This was a common sight in Tanzania in the 1950-60's, when I was there, along with saris and traditional dress - it has always seemed a way of life and a pleasant multi culturalism !! V

I never seen woman dressed like this in Turkey, so it's probably only in the eastern parts close to the border.

the dress code for women does seem outdated....they must cook on a hot day..
