Beginning of the deluge

Today seems to be the perfect day to post the rest of my Halloween pictures, unless I’m able to take some this evening when hordes of kids invade our neighborhood. We had 17 bags of candy, about half with 30-50 pieces and the rest with 100 each; we were pretty much out by 9, except for one bag that Tim will take to work. It was just too cold to stay outside any longer.

This was a snapshot of the beginning of the deluge of trick-or-treaters. We had literally hundreds of kids come by, many bussed in from less affluent neighborhoods of Washington. We're always happy to see them and to give them a chance to enjoy a happy Halloween.

Spiders seem to be in vogue, posted earlier:

I am sure the throngs of families increased as the night went on, Helen. That's a lot of sweets to go through and still not enough.V

Bussed in! Wow, I have not heard of that being done before. But I bet the kids appreciated the generosity greatly. V

In our area Halloween has changed over the last 5 - 6 years. We had only 12 visitors tonight. We have had years with no trick or treaters. Before that we were also inundated with happy goblins. Freak winter storms and hurricanes were the game changers here. Thanks for this uplifting gallery. V
