The whole picture

The three of us went to Hillwood Estate on Saturday afternoon to attend their Spooky Pooch Howl-o-ween costume contest and event for dogs. Sahraa refused to get dressed up for the occasion, but most of the other dogs did, along with many of their owners.

We’re members of Hillwood and have always wanted to take Sahraa up there on Sunday mornings, when members are allowed to walk their dogs on the extensive grounds, but I can never get away from work early enough to go, so this event was a chance for Sahraa to enjoy the place and visit with a lot of dogs and people who wanted to pet her.

We didn’t stick around for the very final prizes, but I’d bet this dog won for the best costume. The owner was Russian and said she had trained her dog since puppyhood to wear costumes. And indeed, she seemed pretty comfortable dressed up like that.
