This is Smoky, an African Grey Parrot who seems to be part of the American Eagle Foundation staff. The woman holding him said he attends office meetings every day at 8 a.m. and also insists on joining the staff for lunch, sitting on one member’s shoulder while she eats.
According to a write-up next to his cage, located in the office entry:
“Smoky came to the AEF in 2014 from an elderly couple who could no longer care for him.
“He is now the office favorite and is quite the troublemaker. He climbs down from his cage and walks around the office to monitor everyone’s work effectiveness.
“Smoky’s favorite things to say are ‘See you later,’ ‘Are you hungry?’ ‘Wanna go see the owl?’ and ‘I love you, okay?’ He’s an excellent whistler; he whistles part of the Andy Griffith theme song and also mimics the training whistle used by AEF staff in the building across the parking lot. In addition, he mimics a cat’s ‘meow,’ a dog’s ‘woof,’ and R2D2.”
