White apron

Well, I couldn’t resist and in fact did go back yet again to the “orchids: A MOMENT” exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. It’s a good thing I did – there were some very exotic new orchids on display. Something I learned was that the Smithsonian Garden has over 8,000 species of orchids in its collection, although I don’t think they’ll all be exhibited here (or this gallery will never end ;-)).

I’m trying to focus mainly on the more unusual orchids I saw during this latest visit to the exhibit, but unfortunately those were some of the most difficult to photograph. This one is reminiscent of another I included, but yet totally different. Not a very graceful orchid!
