Earth-Lodge Dwellings

After touring the historic Washington monuments display and the NPS tribute, we (or more correctly, I) decided to also see the model train exhibit, which in reality was a series of re-creations of iconic national parks and sites in the National Register of Historic Places, all made from plants and other natural materials, with some model trains running through, around or above them. I must add that this exhibit was staged in a darkened gallery, and the lighting was in very unusual colors.

Earth-Lodge Dwellings, Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, North Dakota. I may take a walk back down to the botanic garden this afternoon to go through this exhibit once more. While it's not possible to photograph every single display, I can see from their list that I missed some significant places. I don't know if that was because they were simply too difficult to photograph, or if I didn't see them because of the crowds. It should be quieter there on a weekday afternoon.
