As I was searching for pictures to work on since I’m having a problem getting out in Washington for photo-taking, for some reason I suddenly remembered that I hadn’t finished my Oman galleries, specifically the many mosques I had photographed while on trips there in 2014 and 2015. I guess I was struck by how different they were to mosques in Riyadh (especially in the Diplomatic Quarter), which tend to be fairly plain and built in a desert architectural style, although there are certainly exceptions to that. I am copying in a few pictures from my main Oman galleries as part of this theme.

I don’t remember the name of this mosque, but we passed it frequently on the main highway, and it was situated close to the Grand Mosque, which we had driven out to for some night shots.
