While my friend Fatih was visiting from Istanbul, we went to Alexandria, Virginia, which is situated on the Potomac River. Nothing spectacular, just a pleasant few hours out there.

There was quite an impressive riverboat at the new Alexandria waterfront, but we didn’t have time to go for a ride. There are actually some interesting new things on the river that we are planning to visit, now that we have finally settled into our house and will have some free time on the weekends. Well, I only have Sundays off from work, but still, we need to get out and see things!
