'The Metro'

Rana El Nemr’s series of photographs taken in the Cairo subway, “The Metro,” records the rapid changes being experienced by middle-class urban Egyptians. “ … [T]he mouth of a woman wearing lipstick is echoed by a red shape on her headscarf, which also resembles a heart shape created by a reflection in the window.” This was taken in the women's car of the train.

Try that in New York, or for that matter, in any other metropolis, separate cars for women and men. She is a working woman, that is progress, perhaps.
