'Women of Gaza'

From the “Women of Gaza” series by Tanya Habjouqa, born in Jordan and based in Jerusalem: “ … a typical scene in Gaza – a family car parked on the beach for an informal get-together by the sea. The people of Gaza have little space in their living quarters, and their freedom is limited, but they do have access to the large public expanses of the seashore.”

Unfortunately there were lots of reflections in almost all the pictures, which made them difficult to photograph, although non-flash photography was encouraged by the museum.

This looks like the type of documentary image you would see in Nat Geo. A great image

How interesting that they are huddled so close together and to perhaps their prized possession, their car, when they have an expanse of beach. Psychologically beaten down to 'limited space syndrome'.

You captured this beautifully, no glare at all in the image. It is a slice of everyday life yet there is a power to this shot... V
