Final resting place

Portland, Oregon

This building, amazingly enough, is a crematorium, set above the river in a residential neighborhood. Some friends had told us about it and how to hike to it, but we couldn’t seem to find it on foot but found a long distance view from the road. The front of it is concrete and very conservative looking, and you’d never guess what’s on the back.

Sorry to be so irregular with Pbase, but we’ve been going back and forth to our house and also shopping for things we’ll need, so I have no routine yet and can only catch up when I’m back at the hotel, which hasn’t been often.

Japanese decor, posted earlier.

I like how the artwork blends the building with the sky. Nicely captured among the trees. Voted.

That is truly amazing. Really love the way they have decorated this otherwise sombre place. V

It would be an eyesore if unpainted!

A fine shot between the trees, good to see the paintings, it would look a start building without them.

the upbeat wall art is a tad surprising for such a place...still it does enhance an essentially plain building..
