Sandy Riyadh

The visibility today in Riyadh was horrific, the worst I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t a sandstorm (that was obvious, anyway, but this evening the wind is really strong, and that probably is), although sand in the air had to be a big part of it. It couldn’t have been fog as one weather app said, so I really don’t know how to explain it. This is the King Abdullah Financial District; most of it is obscured.

The same view, taken from just above where I was standing today, normally looks like this:

Wow. That's pretty impressive. Kind of reminds me of my last day in Beijing where the pollution was so bad most everything was obscured.

What a strange and ghostly white-out phenomenon. Makes for an interesting photo especially in contrast to the lower photo.

Smog maybe ?? Whatever, it makes a great shot - I like the lonely lamp post V
