We are very fortunate to have access to a commissary and exchange on a US military base outside Riyadh. It ends up being a three or four-hour trip in total, so we usually go only once a month or so and stock up, but there we can buy American products and some things that one would never be able to find on the local economy.

I have always liked this “plaque” at the entrance to the commissary with the stylized official symbol of Saudi Arabia and the initials for "United States Military Training Mission." Above it is written “Riyadh.”
