Back to the Qassim pavilion and the way out. I really enjoyed the festival, despite the drawbacks of seeing it from a wheelchair, which proved to be an advantage in some cases! It was good we went when we did since a terrorist threat made it impossible for embassy staff to visit after that, despite the fact that it was thwarted by the authorities and nothing happened. I read a report in the local press saying that 1.5 million people (including foreigners, they made sure to mention) had attended the event, so definitely a popular happening here.
Thanks for all the kind comments and votes! My only regret is that we won’t be able to attend next year since we’ll be back in the States.
