Neighborhood with a view

We came across this neighborhood one evening on our way back home from a supermarket, and I was so intrigued by a gate I wanted to go back and see more. It’s not as upscale a neighborhood as the one I photographed last year, but I always find it interesting to see how people live here.

This was a view we saw from the neighborhood on our first visit there. The entry in the picture below is in the distance.

pbase has been sluggish these last few days, and have experienced similar problems...friend's posts seem to languish in 'creating thumbnails' for an inordinate time...today it seems a bit quicker posting comments though, and image uploads more or less normal for the site...hopefully it stabilizes again soon..
