“The Little Mermaid” is Copenhagen’s most famous landmark, but getting a decent capture of it proved impossible, on two occasions. In this instance we had walked from our hotel, a pretty long hike, in beautiful weather, but while I was waiting for a break in the crowds of people being photographed with the statue, it started pouring. The people took shelter, and I managed to get this shot off before my camera got totally soaked. The second attempt was from a tour boat, which again had started out in stunning weather. As we were approaching “The Little Mermaid,” not only did it start pouring, but it hailed as well. I was so wet and so disgusted, I didn’t even try for a picture.
I should probably clone the boat out, but somehow it seemed a fitting reminder to leave in considering all that happened when trying to photograph the statue!
