This whole move has been very hard on our dog, Sahraa. First she had to leave her home of three years (plus her personal chef) and stay for a month with our housekeeper, along with her young dachshund, who adores Sahraa but who Sahraa would prefer to avoid. Then she had to come in a van (! as she is terrified of car rides) to our hotel, in other words to very limited quarters without her freshly cooked meals every day. We took her on a long walk around Budapest on Sunday, which she liked, except for the crowds, but she still hates to have her picture taken and she has been really unsettled by the entire thing. I'm only hoping we can get her into Saudi Arabia safely. There are horror stories about pets dying on the tarmac because they are left out there for five hours while they are being processed, but she is accompanying us (which is better) and we are traveling at night, after the end of the so-called hot season. It's still a frightening prospect for all of us.
