Collision and aftermath (3)

These three images were taken within the course of 40 seconds. The little skiff hit the tour boat, which then ran into the bridge because it had been cut off and couldn't make the turn. The little boat went off in another direction, where there was a second large tour boat coming, so then turned around and cut the first tour boat off again.

The sequence of events before the big picture was taken:

Nikon D800
1/320s f/8.0 at 24.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

too much traffic on the canal in Amsterdam, no wonder there is collision between boats, excellent reportage! V

Very nice image, Helen! ~V
These canal boats are too long. Under new rules their lenght will be limited in a few years.

With this kind of traffic and tour boats of this size, this is not a surprise. Makes for a cool photo op though, which you clearly took advantage of. "V"
