Kraków ghetto

This is one of the few remnants of the wall surrounding the ghetto, which was liquidated in March 1943. The Nazis designed the wall in the shape of tombstones.

This really does have a lot more foreboding, ghetto feeling than the image of the square. It conveys the sadness of what it represents very effectively. Excellent capture. ~V~

Great capture of the sad atmosphere with these tones and worn out background balconies.

seem to have taken a lot more trouble over it than the equivalent in Warsaw & certainly wasted no money on tombstones

A sobering image of this place filled with tragedy. The wall with these shapes and plaque, and the depressing looking background enhance the atmosphere. "V"
