Oliwa Cathedral

This church is quite far from the historic center, but we thought it sounded worth seeing so took a taxi there on our last morning in Gdańsk. We certainly weren't disappointed. The original church was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style but was destroyed by fire in 1350 and rebuilt as a Gothic cathedral in the 14th century. Its interior is Baroque, and it hosts a fabulous organ with moving angels that play instruments, very popular for its recitals (we were there for one).
