Długi Targ, Main Town Hall

Taken from Długi Targ, continuing beyond Town Hall as Długa Street.

Main Town Hall was originally built in 1298 and functioned as an office of the Hanseatic League. Work on the current building began in 1327. Today it houses the municipal museum.

Have just loved studying your beautiful photos. We visited Gdansk June 2011 as it was the home of my paternal great grandfather who came to New Zealand in early 1860s. So good to see the top of this tower completed and beautiful after its reconstruction. Thanks
