Długi Targ is a pedestrianized street lined with elegant townhouses and the old city's principal buildings. Długi Targ and its continuation, Ulica Długa, run from the Green Gate on the Motława River to the Golden Gate and were known as the Royal Way since it was the venue for processions of visiting royalty, parades, ceremonies and even executions.
