These horse-drawn carriages are everywhere in the Old Quarter, and pretty much everybody seems to take them; the ride is reasonably priced and it's a nice way to get an overview of town. When we walked up to the queue of around 10 carriages, I just wanted to look at these particular horses, but the driver's daughter was so nice we decided to take a ride. She took this photograph for us.
Just about all the carriages are white, and the horses usually wear feathers or pompoms or ear warmers and are usually matched up pretty nicely. Most of the streets in the Old Quarter are cobbled, so the horses all have little platforms on their feet, I assume to protect both them and the streets.
