Pannonhalma Abbey is a UNESCO World Heritage site; there has been a Benedictine abbey on this site since 1002, although it has been rebuilt several times. There are still 40 Benedictine monks living here and working the land. We walked around the extensive grounds but were unable to see the inside this time since the only tour left was an hour and a half long, very late in the day and all in Hungarian. Definitely worth a trip on its own, from what I've read.
