National Arboretum, US Capitol columns

These are the original columns from the US Capitol, dating to 1828. (I ended up not keeping this lens; I know some people get great results with it, but I didn't.) I like the composition of this, though, so will go back and try again with a different lens.

Have you tried this with the 24 -70 mm or tried having PS merge two images? CS4 does that quite well.

I agree, Isabel, it isn't good at all -- the lack of detail is appalling -- and I simply don't know what to attribute it to, but I'm certainly trying to find out! Helen
