groovy baby

Step 1: Tear out and repave an 8 ft wide strip the full length of runway (10,330 ft).
Step 2: Put temporary centerline paint on it... no reflective beads yet.
Step 3: Let it cure for 30 days so the cuts are neat and clean.
Step 4: Re-saw the 1/4-in deep grooves. And do it 1 ft at a time.

Yup, that's 10,600 passes with the machine you see above.
Final painting and application of reflective beads to follow.

I'll be sleeping during the daytime a while longer yet.

Close guess. The grooves are 1.5 inches apart on center.

Are the grooves about 2" apart? So the machine will make multiple cuts in one pass. Cool! Keep the coverage coming, it's interesting!
