There is a side of my house that I've nicknamed "the Jurassic" because it gets so little attention.
I like the wild nature of it, but every so often (about once a year at most) I do have to go out and prune things.
Today one of those rare days... and it may take another before I finish. Already I've hauled out a truckload of grass, ferns, Christmas berry, etc.
But the reward every now and then is what can be found in the middle of all that mess. Unseen before today were three separate orchids I'd set out there long ago.
It seems that in the midst of all that wildness they've flourished all by themselves. And each had flowers for me today.
This is why I love that side of the house so much.
