The flare before touch down of a new Boeing 787-8 "Dreamliner" at Kona Int'l Airport on Thurs 03/10/11.
Boeing frequently uses Kona as a warm weather test site for new aircraft.
And that's not a sensor dust speck behind the tail... experimental aircraft often trail a
little "parachute" device like this to gather performance flight data.

Nice shot and wow how I missed the Big Island. I think this is BOE 5 787. The probe in the tail is to measure the true airspeed as I was told by my friend. That can come out over several hundred feet.
