O'Gara's Bar and Grill (Past home of Charles Schultz)

Saint Paul, Minnesota

In days of old you could get a haircut from Carl Schultz on your lunch hour in what is now O'Gara's game room. Carl's son Charles would go on to fame as the creator of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the gang in the "Peanuts." Charles Shultz grew up in the apartment above the bar.

In the picture at left is Charles Schultz (on the right) with Tim O'Gara having lunch at O'Gara's. In the middle section at the top is a picture of Carl Schultz' barber shop, and underneath is a picture of Charles in his father's barber chair showing him his first paycheck drawing cartoons. On the right at top is an original drawing of Snoopy titled "For Dan" (O'Gara) and below an original drawing of Snoopy in Carl Schultz' barber chair signed "For Tim in memory of the old days Charles M Schultz"

Nice shot Greg. They sure didn't help you with the way they lighted the wall. Have you been to a place in Minneapolis called "Haberdashery" or something like that? Maybe it doesn't6 exist any longer? It was a fun place with huge barrels of peanuts and everyone would eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor. This "Peanuts" shot reminded me of it.
