When I got up this morning, I looked out of my second floor bedroom window, and there was this Fox crouched low in the snow, in our yard, as if to pounce on one of the Squirrels feeding below my feeders on the far side of the chain-link fence. I hurried down two flights of stairs and back up with my camera, but alas the Fox was just disappearing behind my neighbours fence and the Squirrels had scampered up a tree - no cigar.
Some 15 minutes later, my wife saw the fox, now on the far side of the fence, but again it got away on me. Then as I was eating breakfast, I saw it going up a small hill behind the house towards the woods. It didn't appear to have been a successful hunt. This is one of the shots I got through our double-pane kitchen window.
