20120222 083 SERIES - Sharp-shinned Hawk.jpg

My Backyard

"TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS"
Two images, with a third a combination of the two. Note, the images were taken through our kitchen window.

Top Image: The Hawk is looking down to the ground behind the fence for one of the Sparrows. It too got away.

The Hawk flew to the ground to try its luck from there. Again, no cigar. The dozen or so Sparrows remained safely in the dense evergreen shrub.

With help from image #2 and from Photoshop, the Hawk, in image #1, now seems to have noticed me in the window and appears ready for take off.

Fabulous series Hank!!! I do love your bird photos!!! :)
I just saw either a Sharp Shinned or Coopers Hawk land on the bird feeder pole a few minutes ago. Unfortunately my camera wasn't set up and he/she took off when they saw me move....
