Two images of a female Belted Kingfisher.
Top Image: This particular day, I didn't feel like carrying my heavy camera/lens/tripod. Instead I decided to just do some hand-held shooting with my 70-300mm lens. As we were about to return to our vehicles, there was this Kingfisher, just across a small bay backed by the most colourful foliage. I quickly took some shots, but wished I had not been so lazy and brought my 500mm lens. The above image is a considerable crop.
After shooting the top image, I hurried to my vehicle to get my other camera and 300mm f2.8 lens + 1.4 T.C., not expecting the Kingfisher to be still there when I got back. In fact when I returned to the spot, the Kingfisher had moved to an other, slightly more distant tree. This image was taken at 420mm with the Kingfisher at the new location.
