Ottawa

Posted two images of a juvenile Killdeer. Click "Previous" for the first image. This little fella disobeyed its parents and wandered out onto the open beach, away from its safe hiding place. It was eventually herded back to safety by the adults.

Such an adorable little creature. They look so soft and vulnerable, which of course, they are. Imagine, out of a clutch of eggs, only this youngster remains. This one has an unusual neck, it looks very elongated. Or maybe it is the wind blowing its feathers.
