An other first for me. This male, a little bit smaller than a Mallard, came for a brief, unexpected, visit to Ottawa. It was found by itself swimming amongst a group of Mallards and Blacks below the Hogsback Falls. Unlike the Mallard, however, it is a diving duck and whilst I watched it, it was constantly diving. It left after a few days.
